What is Horary?

Horary Astrology is one of the many different branches of Astrology, other than Natal Astrology, of which some of us may not be aware.

There is Financial Astrology, and Medical Astrology, among others.

With Horary Astrology, (Horary means "Of the Hour"), it is a system you can use to answer specific questions; usually questions that can be answered with a "yes" or "no". The Houses of the Horary Chart can represent different things than the houses in the Natal Chart.

There is a time element at work in a Horary Chart; no longer than 90 days after the question was asked. If the Ascendant degree is 0 or 1 or 2; you cannot read the chart; the "Question" was asked too soon; all the factors are not in place yet, so you must wait and ask again at another time.

If the Ascendant degree is 27 or 28 or 29, you cannot read the chart, as it is to late; the "Querent" , (the person asking the chart, or the person about whom the Question was asked), has already made their decision to act, and there is nothing another person can do now to influence the Question.

The Horary Moon is very important; it co-rules the question; along with the Ruler of the House in Question; (such as your boss, or your child; or your neighbor).

You use only "applying" aspects in Horary; the Horary Moon at a lower degree than the other planet; once the Moon has reached the same degree of the other planet, and moved on, it is "separating" from the planet/person it represents, and is no longer be in a position to change it's mind or direction, so you don't read it.
