Matrix Software (www.astrologysoftware.com) has four new programs for sale. They are “Know Your Child”, “Know Your Lover,” “Know Your Future”, and “Know Yourself”. These reports are geared toward new students and non-astrologers. The reports are written in story style and not very technical so they are easy to understand and easy to navigate. The cost for all four was less than $100 on sale. Matrix has daily specials as well bundle specials. I use their “Win*Star” programs and really like them. They give me the information I want although their reports are more technical than beginners or non-astrologers may need. If you are looking for an easy to use program, I recommend the “Know Your…”series. If you are an advanced astrologer, you may want to consider owning them. Again, the reports will be for your clients to understand. The Art of Chart Interpretation is a good “next step” in applying what one knows about Astrology. Chart interpretation certainly is an art. Although it is not a new book, beginning Astrology students should add this book to their library. More advanced Astrologers probably have it! I highly recommend this book! The Art of Chart
Interpretation Tracy Marks covers all aspects of Chart Interpretation in great detail in this book. The steps she lists leave nothing to chance and the student doesn’t have to guess about what she means. It differs greatly from the typical “cookbook” approach. Her method of searching the chart for strong points and the most important aspect is a little beyond the beginning Astrology course I took from the AFA. It isn’t out of knowledge range, however. She gives good information on how to delineate those nebulous Nodes. Ms. Marks also includes a chapter on using Astrology as a counseling tool. She gives a strong admonition to those who would go beyond their experience in counseling and advises readers to take courses in psychology to aid in advice giving. Your Hidden Powers: The author wrote this book with intent to define the differences between retrograde planets and intercepted signs. Many people believe they function the same way. The author bases her material on the works of Dane Rudhyar, who was one of the most important astrologers of the 20th century. He wrote more than two dozen books and most are still in print. Ms. Wickenburg emphasizes that one must read all material prefacing each section and not rely on the “cookbook” method of other books. She stresses that intercepted signs and retrograde planets affect individuals in a unique way. She lists some of the ways other authors describe the qualities of intercepted signs and retrograde planets. (Personally, I have even read postings by an astrologer that said he ignores them!) This author says they make the chart unique and life complex and they describe powers (talents) that will be discovered (usually) by transits. Ms. Wickenburg gives good information to back up her statements on intercepted signs. She explains the “hidden door” and how one may unlock it. For each intercepted sign, the sign opposite is also intercepted. The Aires/Libra axis is described along with the other five zodiac axis. She also defines intercepted houses and how the planets ruling them are affected. The book contains great detail on the eight steps of retrograde. Her information on sign ruler ship changing with retrograde planets in the natal chart is credible. The description of the planets working through retrograde are on target in their applications. Your Hidden Powers overall, covers the integration of intercepted sighs, houses and retrograde planets in such a way that it can apply to every natal chart that contains them. After applying the information to several charts, it is clear to see that the information was quite accurate. The author has exposed the mystique of the subject and has rendered it much easier to understand and interpret. |
